Capturing the Heart of WA’s Biggest Coastal Festival: Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest 2025

The Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest is one of Western Australia’s most iconic and beloved events—and for the third year in a row, Overland Media was proud to be the chosen content partner.

This multi-day festival draws tens of thousands of attendees to Mandurah’s foreshore to celebrate food, culture, live entertainment, and of course—plenty of crab. Capturing an event of this scale is no easy task. From sunrise over the estuary to fireworks at night, our team was on the ground for every major moment, working across multiple days to tell the full story.

Our production involved a combination of drone operators, camera crews, on-the-go editors, and coordinators—covering everything from celebrity chefs and cooking demos to street performers, markets, live music, and family-friendly attractions. With a focus on both cinematic storytelling and fast turnaround social content, we ensured the City of Mandurah and Channel 7 had the assets they needed in real time and for future marketing campaigns.

What makes this project one of our favourites? Beyond the incredible vibe and waterfront setting, it’s the opportunity to contribute to a massive community event that showcases the best of regional WA.
